Southpaw Grammar Radio Show

queer reading, queer writing and all things wordy

About

Southpaw Grammar is a radio show for writers and readers on Melbourne’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer radio station, Joy 94.9. But it’s also an online community – of sorts.

We want to find out what’s happening in the world of queer writing. And we want to tell other people about it. You say interesting things, say them to us why don’t you? And maybe we’ll tell others.

As a show, we focus on contemporary writing, including books, audio books and spoken word, zines, comedy, lyrics, online journalism and fiction from blogs and ejournals.

In every program we cover a range of topics, including zine reviews, blog reviews, a look at the life and work of a classic queer author from the past, a live reading from an emerging Australian writer and a queer spoken word piece from an established author.

We also do a weekly bio and discussion about a queer musician and/or band with a focus on their lyrics.

So tune in to the show, download the podcast, contribute to the blog and help us make the show what you want it to be.
